Met Office says temperatures in one town could hit 27C next week!

North Wales is set to be hotter than Athens and Tenerife next week as temperatures soar.

One town in the region is poised to record 27C conditions on Tuesday and one forecaster has said it could prove to be the hottest part of the UK.

It is also set to be the warmest temperatures we have seen this year so far.

BBC weatherman Derek Brockway said on Twitter: "A warm or toasty start to June with the highest temperatures of the year so far.

"North West Wales could be the warmest part of the UK."

He said one chart predicted Porthmadog could see 27C temperatures on Tuesday, which would beat the 24C forecast for Athens, as well as the 22C predicted in Tenerife.
